September 2021

The Appreciation Blog is an opportunity for ABA employees to express their appreciation to fellow colleagues for the small or helpful deeds that would otherwise go unnoticed.

To: Sau Chor (9/28/2021)
While I am no longer in the School of Music, I still hear what an enormous help Sau is at making Capistrano Hall a place where students and faculty can call home, and a clean one at that. Her job reaches far beyond just keeping the building clean, as she assists in making sure students and faculty are safe - noting when there are "strangers" in the building and notifying the administration as well as campus security. Thank you Sau!!! ~Karen Sorenson

To: Michael Hendren (9/14/2021)
Thank you so much for all of your support and effort with the fountain project. We couldn't have completed what we have so far without you. ~Mr Kramer

To: Jeff Whitehead (9/14/2021)
Jeff I applaud the determination and effort you had demonstrated during the flood at Calaveras Hall. I look forward to seeing all of the things you will accomplish over the next years to come. ~Mr Kramer

To: Jesse Smith (9/13/2021)
Jesse, thank you so much for assisting with the process of collecting previously issued Voyager gas cards and distributing the new cards. It was a very last minute request but you were willing (as always) to step in and help out without any hesitation. I appreciate your help and all that you do for the Police Department! Thank you! ~Natalya Sysa

Thank you Jeff for partnering with us to get all of the parking-related logistics handled for the PS3 testing site (and for giving me grace for my "not to scale" map!). :) ~Margaret Hwang

Thank you Freddy for helping coordinate PS3 for the testing site -- I appreciate you being there at the walk through and answering all of my questions. ~Margaret Hwang

To: Erick Asamoah (9/10/2021)
Erick was a critical participant in a hiring committee that needed to evaluate candidates and conduct initial interviews as quickly as possible to fill a much needed staffing gap in Facilities. Although a busy time with the start of the semester, he was able to prioritize this need. He brought much needed technical expertise to properly evaluate candidates, and was instrumental in helping this recruitment move to the next staged. His participation was greatly appreciated. ~Tania Nunez

To: Doug Power (9/10/2021)
Doug, the custodial team, and the moving team were amazing in helping getting PS3 ready for the testing site. Thank you Doug for going through the last walk through and ensuring the SHCS was all set. I appreciate you all! Thank you! ~Margaret Hwang

To: Eric Solberg (9/10/2021)
Eric was instrumental in getting our PS3 testing site up and running with all electrical needs. He came out twice and ensured the Student Health and Counseling Team had what they needed for their setup. Thank you Eric! ~Margaret Hwang

To: Janie Mutchler (9/10/2021)
Janie and other ABA colleagues were instrumental in getting the campus testing site set up in PS3. She coordinated and delivered all of the PPE needed for the site and thought of everything that could be needed. I am amazed at what ABA can do together! ~Margaret Hwang

To: Kimberly Donaville-Davis (9/10/2021)
Kimberly's participation in a search committee for a much needed position within Facilities was critical in helping us conduct timely evaluations and interviews of candidates. She was very professional with candidates and brought great questions to the table to help with evaluation. Her participation was greatly appreciated. ~Tania Nunez

To: Mike Kramer (9/10/2021)
Mike Kramer was part of a hiring committee for a critical position within Facilities where the Hiring Manager wanted to be able to complete evaluations and interviews in a quick manner. Despite multiple impacts on his time - especially with the start of the semester and return of students to campus - he was able to prioritize this need. He also brought his knowledge, professionalism and charismatic personality to the process. His participation was greatly appreciated. ~Tania Nunez
